Who we are
Somber Group is the controller of the personal data collected through this website. We are registered in England and Wales, and we are responsible for deciding how that information is used and protected.
If you have any question about this policy or about your personal data, write to hello@sombergroup.com.
What this policy covers
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit this website or contact us through it, why we collect it, who we share it with and how long we keep it.
It does not cover the separate websites of the brands in the group, or the third-party sites we link to. Each of those has its own privacy notice, and you should read it before using that site.
Information we collect
- Information you give us: your name, email address, organisation or brand, and the content of your message when you complete an enquiry form or write to us.
- Information collected automatically: your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, the pages you view and the time of your visit.
- Cookies and similar technologies: small files placed on your device that help the website function and, where enabled, measure traffic in aggregate.
How we use your information
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
- to respond to your enquiry and correspond with you;
- to operate, maintain and improve the website and its content;
- to keep the website secure and to prevent misuse, spam and fraud;
- to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations;
- where you have asked us to, or have given your consent, to send you updates about the group and its brands.
Cookies and analytics
We use a minimal set of cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the website to work, and, where analytics are enabled, technologies that help us understand how the site is used. Analytics information is reviewed in aggregate and is not used to identify you personally. We do not use advertising cookies.
You can block, restrict or delete cookies through your browser settings. If you disable cookies, some parts of the website may not work as intended.
Who we share it with
We share personal data only where it is necessary, and always with appropriate safeguards:
- service providers that host and maintain the website, provide IT support or provide analytics, under written terms and duties of confidentiality;
- our professional advisers, such as legal and accounting advisers, where required;
- other companies within the group, where that is necessary to deal with your enquiry or run the group's operations;
- regulators, law enforcement or other authorities where we are required to do so by law, or to protect our rights.
International transfers
Some of our service providers may process personal data outside the UK or the European Economic Area. Where that happens, we put appropriate safeguards in place, such as reliance on UK adequacy regulations, the International Data Transfer Agreement or the standard contractual clauses, together with an assessment of the risks involved.
How long we keep it
We keep personal data only for as long as we need it. Enquiries are kept for as long as it takes to deal with them, plus a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to us. Analytics data is retained in aggregate form. Where the law requires us to keep records for longer, we do so and then delete or anonymise the data.
Your rights
You have rights over your personal data, including the right to access it, to have it corrected, to have it erased, to restrict or object to how it is used, and to receive it in a portable format. These rights, and how to exercise them, are set out in full on our Data Protection page.
Security
We apply technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we review our measures regularly and act promptly if something goes wrong. Our Data Protection page explains this in more detail.
Children
This website is intended for business audiences and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and if we learn that we have done so we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any change is published on this page, and the date of the most recent update is shown at the top.
Contact and complaints
Write to hello@sombergroup.com with any question about your personal data, and we will do our best to resolve it. If you are not satisfied, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or to the supervisory authority in your country of residence.
